Pretty much everyone has heard of P90X workout program by now.
Unless you live in a cave by yourself, you’re probably not more than 2 or 3 degrees of separation from someone who’s at least attempted the program.
But the question always remains, Does It Work?
The health and fitness industry is a multi billion dollar industry and people are always on the look out for the next workout craze or the next great diet program to get fast results and be beach body ready.
Some of these things work, some don’t, some work wonders but the instant you stop for a week you blow back up bigger than you were before you started. But to make real lasting change it takes dedication and consistency.
That’s what P90X is about. Dedication and consistency. For those of you who have heard about it but don’t know the full story it’s a 90 day bootcamp style workout program that can be done in your living room with a minimal amount of equipment.
The X in P90X stands for extreme! It’s a serious workout program. There are many people who don’t complete it. I am one of them (maybe I should say I haven’t completed it yet). I have started and stopped the program so many times that I don’t want to count. Some people say “that’s ok, just pick up on the next day” or “life happens” but that’s not the way I think. I’m stubborn and I want to complete the program as it was designed. 90 days start to finish transforming the way I look and feel.
That’s why I started this blog. To talk about my journey, share my experiences, help anyone else out along the way who may be going through the program as well, and get support myself so I can complete the program start to finish.
For those of you who don’t know me I’m a manager at a McDonald’s. When I first took the job my friends told me “you’re going to gain so much weight working there…” But like I said, I’m stubborn. I was determined not to let that happen. So for awhile I was really disciplined, doing my P90X everyday, eating nothing but salads everyday at work and making smart choices outside of work. Because of that I actually lost weight in the first few weeks I was at work.
But then things started happening and I slacked off. My diet went out the window, life got in the way, less time to workout, the holidays came around etc. etc. And the weight came back on.
So I decided to start this blog to hold myself accountable to accomplishing my goal of doing the P90X program all the way through. Anyone who wants to follow along with me and offer some support please do. If there is anyone out there who would like to join me in doing the program we can support each other.
Here we go! Bring it!
